NBA trade rumors: Pelicans' Anthony Davis to Celtics talk heating back up?

The NBA trade rumor that won’t go away is back: Anthony Davis to the Celtics. As fans look forward to the 2018 NBA trade deadline on Feb. 8, could the Celtics actually land one of the handful of best players in the world in a blockbuster trade from the New Orleans Pelicans?

The NBA trade rumor that won’t go away is back: New Orleans Pelicans superstar Anthony Davis to the Boston Celtics.

During an appearance on ESPN Radio, NBA insider Adrian Wojnarowski was asked about the chatter that’s been lurking in NBA circles for over a year: Boston has its eye on finally cashing in all its assets and/or young stars for a shot at Davis.

According to Wojnarowski, there’s nothing to it–right now.

Davis could be a complete game changer for the Celtics if a blockbuster went down. Although Boston is very good and an Eastern Conference contender without a player of Davis’ caliber, the idea of adding the freak athlete to a team that already has Kyrie Irving, Al Horford, and Gordon Hayward is terrifying. Add in at least one (assuming the other could be used in a package to acquire Davis) of Jaylen Brown or Jayson Tatum and the picture of a special team could emerge in Boston.

Cousins to L.A.?

Davis, 24, is averaging 26.7 points, 10.5 rebounds and 2.1 blocks per game for the Pelicans this season.
