The Teong primary school became a center of national attention after reports emerged of how school children there were without classrooms and furniture, forcing them to sit on the bare-floor and under trees to take lessons.

The plight of the school caught the attention of the McDan foundation which moved to build a complete primary school block for the community.

The delegation who handed the renovated school building block at a gathering of chiefs and people of the Teong village said, the purpose for the renovation was to ensure safe and secure environment for the learning.

The Paramount Chief, Naaba Dazure II made a passionate appeal to the Foundation to build Technical and Vocational schools to groom its teeming youths into various professions profitable for the community.
