I was excited to see Health Canada’s approval of the COVID-19 vaccine for five- to 11-year-olds with a three-week dosing interval, but dismayed that the National Advisory Council on Immunization is recommending eight weeks between doses. We’ve been told to “follow the science” throughout this pandemic, but while there is some evidence of a marginal benefit to spreading out doses in adults, there is zero evidence that this is also true in young children.
