The Ghana Health Service (GHS) has stated that four more lives have been lost to the Covid-19 pandemic.
On its Twitter page @GHSofficial, the Service indicated that this brings the country’s death toll to 1,269 as of December 18.
These casualties were recorded within 24hours. A total of 1,265 deaths were recorded as of December 17.
Also, the GHS in its latest update revealed that active cases stand at 3,165. New cases have seen a significant drop. The current figure stands at 321 as against 509 cases recorded in the previous update.

This brings the confirmed Covid-19 cases to 134,555. However, a total of 129,921 persons who fell prey to the virus have recovered and have been discharged from the various health facilities.
Meanwhile, the Ghana Health Service has urged members of the general public to observe the safety protocols by wearing their facemasks, wash their hands regularly with soap under running water, use an alcohol-based hand sanitiser and practice social distancing.
Also, citizens have been encouraged to participate in the ongoing vaccination exercise aimed at ensuring Ghana attains herd immunity.
