It’s been a while since Edmonton Oilers suffered such a run of injuries/illnesses on the blueline. This observer of the franchises entire 50-year history can recall only one scenario that was more dire than the situation facing the Oilers tonight. That occurred in March of 2007 as the club crashed and burned down the stretch of a lost season, rearguards dropping like flies.
