Karibi Fubara, one of Nollywood’s fast-rising actors and producers, has died.
“It is with mixed emotions that we inform you that Karibi Fubara has joined our Lord and Savior in the heavenly realm. There is joy because Karibi is in a better place. There is sadness because he is no longer in this earthly realm,” a family statement signed by Michael Fubara said on Wednesday, December 15, 2021.
“For all of us that love him so dearly, let us use the joy to console each other during periods of sadness. We will be in touch with further details in the future.”
Although details of his death are still sketchy, in May 2020, Fubara shared his post-cancer survival story on Instagram after successful surgery on May 3, 2020.
In the post, he revealed that he had a large mid-stage kidney tumour/cancer around April.
With an acting career spanning more than 15 years, Fubara is famous for his Netflix production ‘We Speak Dance’ and ‘Bode’ in ‘The Smart Money Woman’.
He also starred in the faith-based film ‘God’s Calling’ and Ndani TV’s short film ‘Fractured’ alongside Eku Edewor.
Karibi Fubara tied the knot with celebrity stylist Yolanda Okereke in December 2018.
In January 2021, he was one of the 15 actors featured in Netng’s special report spotlighting Top 15 actors to watch out for in 2021.
