There are only a few hours until Gulder Ultimate Search crowns the 12th Ultimate Man.
As GUS Season 12 gradually winds up, we’ve seen tremendous talents among the 18 contestants who went into the jungle in October 2021 before they were whittled down to four finalists.
Undoubtedly, the survival reality show has uncovered some of the Nigerian creative industry’s finest talents since it first premiered in 2004. As we anticipate the finale on Sunday, December 26, 2021, where we will find out the new champion joining the list of GUS stars, we take a look at what these stars have been doing since their series ended.
Kunle Remi
He really showed a whole new side to the world after winning the seventh edition in 2010 and went on to hone his acting skills at the New York Film Academy. Since returning to Nigeria after his training in the US, Kunle has become one of the most in-demand Nigerian actors in the last seven years. He has acted in several Nollywood movies since then.
In 2021, he returned to the show as the taskmaster of GUS 12 as the show made its return after seven years hiatus.
Chris Okagbue
Chris’ major break came when he won season 8 of the reality show in 2011. His success on the reality show landed him a role in Tinsel, Nigeria’s longest-running TV series. Since then, he has featured in several Nollywood movies as an actor and producer. He featured in ‘The Bling Lagosians’ (2019), ‘Lotanna’ (2016), ‘Kada River’ (2016), and ‘Sanitation Day’ (2021), ‘Chance at Love’ (2021), among many others.
Dominic Mudabai
The 2010 Estate Management graduate came to the limelight when he emerged winner of the fourth season – ‘The Search for the Golden Age’ in 2007. He is a model and has appeared in several adverts with prominent brands. He is also the founder of Wung Fitness, a health and wellness company.
Uche Nwaezeapu
Uche Nwaezeapu won Gulder Ultimate Search Season 6 in 2009 – ‘Horn of Valour.’
Since winning the survival reality show in 2009, he has starred in several Nollywood movies – Half Shot of Sunrise, Sister’s Love, Clandestine, Love Cycle, The Unforgotten, Plus Hubby, Ogadi, Turning 30, The Forbidden Fruit, among others.
Dennis Okike
Okike won the 10th edition of the show – ‘The Tenth Symbol’. He has also built on the GUS platform to become a prominent Nollywood actor since winning the reality show in 2013. Okike has starred in The Wrong Guest, Malaysian Boyz, and The Heart Wants What it Wants.
Chinedu Ubachukwu
Chinedu Ubachukwu won GUS Season 11 – ‘The General’s Helmet.’ He also followed the same path as other GUS winners before him; Ubachukwu also chose a career in acting. He is known for his role in Gbomo Gbomo Express (2015).
Kofya Brown
Despite being the first contestant to be evicted from Gulder Ultimate Search Season 9 – ‘The Gatekeeper’s Fortune,’ Kofya Brown remains one of the most popular contestants from Season 9.
Since leaving the reality show, she has built a career in Nollywood as an actor, director and producer.
Brown starred in ‘My Sister And I’ (2017), ‘Ire’ (2016), a three cast movie, and starred and produced many others.
Uzor Osimkpa
Uzor Osimkpa was the fourth runner-up in Gulder Ultimate Search Season 9 – ‘The Gatekeeper’s Fortune’ in 2012.
Although she has been acting before GUS fame, since she left GUS in 2012, Uzor has starred in the M-Net series, Tinsel, as well as several movies like ‘Love Is War’, ‘More Secrets’, ‘Dance to My Beat’, ‘Just Before I Do’ and TV series like Hustle, Flatmates among many others.
The finale of Gulder Ultimate Search Season 12 will air on DSTV Africa Magic Showcase channel 151, Africa Magic Family channel 154, and Africa Magic Urban channel 153 on Saturday, December 25 and Sunday, December 26 from 6 pm to 7 pm.
