Real Christmas trees are being delivered to homes in the Victorian suburb of Bayside amid huge demand.
“It’s been off the charts,” Justin Morley from Bayside Christmas Trees told 9News.
“It’s been busy. Everyone wants real trees, so we’re just flat out delivering them,” Morley said.
Ten dollars from every Bayside Christmas tree goes to charity.
But for many of the young kids half the fun of a real tree comes from choosing it themselves.
The Somerville and Peninsula Christmas Tree Farm is expecting its busiest weekend yet.
“Some like them scruffy, some like them perfect, some want them wild. It’s not Christmas without a tree,” George Landolfo from the tree farm said.
Gale Scantleton has been going to the farm for about four years.
“It takes us about four hours to decorate the tree,” Scantleton said.
It has taken the trees on the farm about three years to be ready in time for Christmas.
The farm expects to sell between 6000 – 8000 of them over the holiday period.
