
According to the utility provider’s outage map , about 34 neighbourhoods lost power between 6:15 p.m. and 6:24 p.m. in eight separate outages.
Epcor lists “equipment repair” and “equipment failure” as the cause for the outages, and estimates that it will restore power to some of those neighbourhoods by between 8:30 p.m. and 9:30 p.m.
As of 9:50 p.m., about 24,000 customers were still affected by four remaining outages with an estimated restoration time of 11:30 p.m., Epcor said.
