The Republican Governor of Florida, Ron DeSantis, has been widely condemned after allowing up to to a million Covid tests to expire while they were in storage in the state.
People are desperate for rapid test kits and @GovRonDeSantis let a million of them in Florida's warehouses EXPIRE.

Ron DeSantis should resign for letting around a million Covid tests expire. Absolutely horrible.
— Scott Dworkin (@funder) January 7, 2022
From the story:
"The batch of rapid tests expired between Dec. 26 and Dec. 30."
The governor's emergency director said: “We tried to give them out prior to that, but there was not a demand for it."Also from Dec. 26 …https://t.co/A2ITUycyUt

In an effort to downplay the blatant negligence, the governor ignored all the evidence of asymptomatic transmission, suggesting that testing wasn’t really necessary and caused additional problems.
The clip was shared by one of his devoted defenders, Christina Pushaw.
His bizarre argument received the ridicule it truly deserved.

Think about it. Mary felt fine, so why shouldn't she have kept cooking for people who mysteriously kept getting typhus? https://t.co/AYbkRwzJ1R

Feminist Proper Gander had the perfect analogy – especially considering the message on the governor’s podium.
