MultiChoice Nigeria recently unveiled Simi, Obi Asika and D’banj as the judges for the seventh edition of popular reality TV singing competition, Nigerian Idol.
Nigerian Idol season seven, which begins today, February 6, 2022, promises to be bigger and more exciting than ever.
The multi-award winning music star, Oladapo ‘Dbanj’ Oyebanjo, is no doubt excited to be on the show as a judge for the new season, “expect lifestyle and entertainment when you see D’banj,” he said.
Speaking on his strategy for the music show, he said: “My tactic will be to be myself because I’m always full of life. I’m on the lookout for the complete package from contestants, nothing like the entertainment industry has ever seen. For me entertaining the audience is more important than having the voice”.
According to him, “Music only gets you to the door, but it takes more than music to become a star.”
After almost two decades in the music industry, D’banj has been able to impact the lives of many upcoming talents. He commended the organisers of Nigerian Idol for providing the opportunity to showcase millions of talents to the world.
D’banj said he is fully prepared to contribute his wealth of experience to the music reality show, and as a result, the contestants will receive insights that will improve their performance and prepare them for success.
Nigerian Idol Season 7 will air from February 6, 2022, on Africa Magic Urban, Africa Magic Family, Africa Magic Showcase, and Showmax from February 2022.
