Music legend and creative entrepreneur, Obi Asika is making his return as a judge on Nigerian Idol. He is joined by Nigerian Idol newbies, D’Banj and Simi, for the seventh season of the reality TV singing competition.
Not only has Obi demonstrated his versatility in the creative industry, he brought out shining stars in the industry like Naeto-C, Darey, Sasha P, General Pype, Tosin Martins and Yung6ix. He also knows his onions in the music business, and he’s ready to impact more lives with Nigerian Idol season 7!
Obi Asika is the founder of Dragon Africa, a strategic communications agency, and co-founder of Social Media Week Lagos, one of the largest new media and technology conferences in Africa. He also owns a recorded label that has groomed the likes of Naeto C, Ikechukwu, Sasha P, General Pype, L.O.S., Ms Jaie, Tosin Martins, and Yung 6ix.
Over the years, Obi Asika has grounded his involvement in the growth of popularly known for his involvement in the growth of Nigeria’s music industry. Speaking on his expectation and strategy towards this year’s show, he said, “I hope to be fair to all, and I’m ready to help take raw talents to the next level”.

Nigerian Idol Season 7 will air from February 6, 2022, on Africa Magic Urban, Africa Magic Family, Africa Magic Showcase, and Showmax from February 2022.
