The search for a missing man in Queensland will resume at first light on Friday.
The man was reportedly washed off the beach at Miami, a suburb on the Gold Coast, on Thursday evening.
Queensland police were called to lifeguard tower 22 near Marine Parade just after 6pm following reports a wave knocked the man over while he was fishing and he was unable to regain his footing.

Members of the public attempted to reach the man but he was dragged out to sea.
A land, sea and air search that began soon after was unsuccessful and the search was suspended for the night.
