The tradition of wearing a poppy in November has become a national symbol of respect and remembrance.</p><p>While Remembrance Day is not a statutory holiday in Quebec, it is recognized as a federal holiday for public service employees and federally regulated businesses such as banks, postal services and more. However, privately owned post offices will be open according to the hours of the business they're located in.</p><p><strong>Public transit:</strong> The STM will operate as usual.</p><p><strong>Service Canada:</strong> Service Canada locations will be closed, as will passport offices, CRA contact centres and other federal government services.</p>
