While driving to work I regularly panic thinking I’ve mislaid my car keys because they’re not in my pocket.

A similar thing had happened to u/fastrthnu, and they shared their embarrassment.

I was freaking out as we were leaving a store because I didn’t know where my son Aaron was.

I asked my wife, “Where’s Aaron?”

She just smiled at me silently.

I’m confused because she didn’t seem concerned at all.

“Where’s Aaron!” I was getting upset because she didn’t seem to care.

“WHERE’S AARON!”

“You’re holding him.”

I turned my head and saw I was indeed carrying him. My face turned very red.

This happened 30 years ago and it still comes up every once in awhile.

But it was a Redditor named u/mizinamo who got to the heart of the matter.

Sleep deprivation will do that to you.
