Two Queensland property owners have been left with millions of dollars worth of damages after a house undergoing renovations fell on its neighbour.

The heritage-listed house, located in the suburb of Sherwood in Brisbane, was suspended on wooden stilts when it collapsed onto the home beside it.

Video footage captured the incident, which left the property tilted on its side, damaging the now-splintered walls of the other house.

It's believed tradesmen had left the site and were on the street minutes before the house collapsed.

Nobody was injured.

The people who lived in the crushed home were not inside at the time. It's understood they've lived in the house for less than a year.

They have been forced to relocate until their home is deemed structurally safe.

9news.com.au contacted the builder Ashforth Constructions, but the owner declined to comment.

There will be an internal investigation into what went wrong and Work Place Health and Safety is also involved.
