After being postponed by the Omicron variation, the 64th annual Grammy Awards took place on Sunday, April 3, 2022. Trevor Noah returned to host the program, which was staged for the first time in the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.
Jon Batiste won four awards, including Album of the Year for We Are. He went into the night with 11 nominations and won Album of the Year, Video of the Year, Best Music Video, and Best American Roots Performance.
Silk Sonic also won the night’s other major awards, including Record and Song of the Year for “Leave the Door Open,” as well as Best R&B Performance and Best R&B Song. Olivia Rodrigo took up the award for Best New Artist, as well as Best Pop Vocal Album and Best Pop Solo Performance.
Stars like Jazmine Sullivan, Black Coffee, Arooj Aftab, and Lucky Daye won their first Grammy Awards ever.
