The mother of a young woman who was killed 17 months ago says she can now start to heal after police charged a man with her daughter's murder earlier today.
Emergency services found the body of Jessica Geddes, 27, inside a home in Endeavour Hills in Melbourne, at about 7pm on November 6, 2020.

Following a lengthy investigation from detectives, Geddes' mother Saasha Brimble says she has greatly welcomed the outcome.
"I've been waiting every day, 'is today the day?', 'is today the day?" she said.
"Today [is] the day."

Her former boyfriend, 28-year-old Robert Rickaby was arrested and charged for her alleged murder in Queensland today.
Ms Brimble said the outcome was a step forward for the family.
"I can start somewhat healing because I know my girl isn't coming back through the door," she said.

"She deserves justice and my granddaughter deserves to know there is justice for her mummy and that a bad person can't get away with this.
"She never deserved to be beaten and broken."
The accused has been charged and faced the Roma Street Magistrates' Court in Brisbane.
He will now be extradited back to Victoria.
