A man has been hospitalised following a suspected gangland shooting in Sydney's Inner West.
In a statement, police said they found a man, believed to be in his late 30s, with gunshot wounds at Walker Street in Rhodes on Monday about 6.30pm.
Police said they thought the incident was "targeted".
It is believed to have taken place in an underground carpark near the Rhodes Central shopping centre.
Video footage showed the man, who was on a stretcher and being heavily monitored by paramedics, being loaded into an ambulance.
He was then taken to hospital in a critical condition, while police have set up a crime scene in the area.
A vehicle was found burnt out nearby a short time later.
Police have appealed for witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage of the incident to contact them.
