The award ceremony for the “AI-Champions Baden – Württemberg 2022” takes place this year on July 13th. Launched in 2020 by the Ministry of Economic Affairs, Labour and Tourism Baden-Württemberg, this competition shows that the State of Baden-Württemberg is home to very innovative companies in the field of artificial intelligence.
Artificial intelligence is the future’s key technology. AI applications are becoming more and more important for the economy as well as for solving global societal and sustainability challenges. The State Government of Baden-Württemberg, Europe’s most innovative region, is well aware of the potential provided by the local economy and research, especially by the SMEs and supports their work with competitions, programmes and support schemes.
“With Action Programmes like “AI for SMEs”, we are working to ensure that the State of Baden-Württemberg expands its economic potential, not only in application but also as a “producer of AI” in order to generate added value in the state and thus secure the future of the business location and thus prosperity”, says Minister of Economic Affairs, Labour and Tourism Baden-Württemberg Dr. Nicole Hoffmeister-Kraut in her interview with local radio station Antenne 1 today, July 4th.
The work of the State Government is paying off: Baden-Württemberg is developing constantly to a pioneer in AI on a national, a European, as well as a global level and continues to strengthen its role as Germany’s engine of innovation. Numerous outstanding examples of “AI made in Baden-Württemberg” prove the potential that the companies in the State have.
“We already have companies in Baden-Württemberg, both small and large, and start-ups that are successfully developing innovative AI solutions and bringing them to market. “AI made in BW” is already a reality today! Across all sectors. Our best practice examples can also inspire and provide ideas for others.”, continues Minister Dr. Hoffmeister-Kraut.
This knowledge of Baden-Württemberg’s potential in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning was the initiation of the contest “AI-Champions Baden-Württemberg”. The contest is being organised by the Ministry of Economic Affairs, Labour and Tourism Baden-Württemberg since 2020 with the aim to first identify and then promote local companies and research institutions with outstanding AI-based products or services, business models or AI research projects in order for them to contribute to a successful AI ecosystem in Baden-Württemberg.
This year, nine AI champions from Baden-Württemberg will be awarded on July 13, 2022. Be part of the Award Ceremony and learn more about Baden-Württemberg’s contributions to the worldwide market of artificial intelligence applications and products.
