Liquolions, the fandom of BBNiaja season six runner-up Afije ‘Liquorose’ Omokhoa have sent the social media ablaze in celebration of their NET Honours Most Popular Fandom award.
When she was announced the winner of the category on Friday, July 1, 2022, ahead of other nominees like Titans, Money Gang, Elites, etc., fans of the BBNaija star poured congratulatory messages to Liquorose and on themselves for a well-deserved award.
Liquorose was delighted with the win and took to her Twitter account to thank her fans for their support and love.
“Congratulations Liquolions,” she wrote to her Twitter handle.
She then asked her fans “no matter the situation, Lions will never eat what —? and what followed were hundreds of “never eat grass” and “congratulations.”
Also, in celebration of the win, the 27–year-old entertainer and video vixen joked…
“Lions, you all didn’t drop your acceptance speeches.”
Reactions trailed as happy fans began to drop their speeches.
A fan with the Twitter username @joanfelix04 wrote
“First of all, we just want to thank the almighty God. To our haters, we’re just getting started. To our fave, we Dior for life. Thank you all for the support and the award goes to all the Liquolions worldwide. God bless you all.”
Another fan, @Sherheed, said that “there would not have been Liquolions without Liquorose.”
“Dazzling cheers and more wins. I’m proud of being a lion and I’m proud of you, my baby.”
Since the BBNiaja season six ended on October 3, 2021, Liquorose has enjoyed a growing fanbase and has an Instagram following of 2.5 million making her the highest followed housemate from the season.
Commenting on the visible support and enthusiasm fans showed for their favourites, Michael Orodare, the Editorial Lead at ID Africa said “in seven days, we recorded more than 21,000 votes from fans who chose their favourites in the new categories. This is why we introduced 15 new voting categories that gave fans more power to choose their favourite celebrities for the awards.”
Since its debut in 2013, NET Honours have been one of the world’s most prestigious verified audience-based awards presented to deserving individuals for their outstanding achievements and contribution to the Nigerian entertainment industry.
