#NETHonours 2022: Over 21,000 Votes In 7 Days. Here’s How Fans Voted Their Favourites

On Friday, July 1, 2022, we unveiled the full list of NET Honours Class of 2022.

NET Honours, one of the world’s most prestigious verified audience data-based awards, debuted in 2013 as a special recognition award presented to deserving individuals in the Nigerian entertainment industry during the Nigerian Entertainment Conference (NECLive). In 2016, it evolved into NET Honours People’s Choice Awards, recognising achievers in the entertainment industry through a thorough analysis of online audience search, consumer interest, social media interactions and search trends on Netng’s website, social media platforms and other related channels.

Data for the Class of 2022 are based on audience engagement from a database of over 10 million internet users reached across Netng’s website and social media channels between June 2021 and May 2022.

This year, 15 new categories were introduced and up to the fans to choose their favourites through voting which lasted for seven days. The voting categories gave fans more power to choose their favourites celebrities and fandoms for the awards.

At the end of the voting on Wednesday, June 29, 2022, 21,482 votes were recorded from fans.

In a stiff voting contest between Davido’s 30 BG fanbase and WizKid FC, 30 BG edged their rivals with 38.1% of total votes to emerge Most Popular Music Fandom, while Starboy FC pulled 32.8% of votes. Liquolions, the fandom of BBNaija 2021 runner-up, Liquorose, emerged Most Popular BBNaija Fandom, beating Whitemoney’s Money Gang, and Titans, the fanbase of Tacha.
