MINNEAPOLIS — Minneapolis police are investigating after a Children’s Minnesota employee was robbed of her belongings outside the hospital.
According to the hospital, the employee was held at gunpoint early Tuesday evening.
“The employee was not physically harmed. Our security alerted the Minneapolis Police Department, which is investigating the incident,” the hospital said in a statement.
Police said officers responded to the armed robbery report shortly after 6 p.m. near the 1000 block of 25th Street East.
The victim, a woman, told officers that she had just entered her vehicle when another vehicle stopped next to hers. Two suspects got out of the vehicle armed with guns and demanded the woman’s belongings, including her cellphone and cellphone password. The victim complied and the suspects left in their vehicle.
Police tried to find the woman’s belongings but did not have success.

After enjoying mild weather that has been as much as 10 degrees above seasonal for some regions, a sharp cold front will sweep in by Wednesday, bringing a significant temperature drop.

In Montreal, daytime highs are set to hit 24 on Tuesday, which is well above the average for this time of year — which is normally around 12 degrees. But don't get too used to it! By Thursday, weather in Montreal and other areas like Quebec City, Sherbrooke and Trois-Rivières will struggle to reach even 10 degrees as the cold front moves in.

Northern Quebec will feel the chill even more. Val-d'Or is looking at a high of just 5 degrees on Thursday, and places like Saguenay and La Tuque will see highs in the single digits as well. The cold front will also bring some rain to the province, and according to MétéoMédia, there's even a chance of snow showers in mountainous regions — so we hope you put your winter tires on early!

What really stands out is just how far above normal the temperatures have been right before this cold front moves in. In Montreal, 24 degrees is around 12 degrees warmer than usual for October.

But while these temps have been above seasonal, they aren't unprecedented — MétéoMédia reminds us that just two years ago, in late October 2022, Montrealers were basking in temperatures 14 degrees above seasonal. So, while this warmth isn't unheard of, it doesn't stick around for long.

Along with the cold, Quebec can expect strong winds during the front's passage on Wednesday. Montreal will see gusts up to 55 km/h, with similar conditions across places like Val-d'Or, Trois-Rivières and Saguenay, according to the forecast.

Fortunately, this cool period won't last forever either. By Saturday, temperatures should start to climb again, though they won't be quite as warm as we've just experienced. Still, it'll be a brief break from the chill before the full force of Quebec winter weather kicks in.

So, whether you're in southern Quebec or further north, enjoy the sunshine while it lasts — colder weather is on the way, and it's going to hit fast!

Love this?
