An exclusion zone around the property was set up about 11.30am after police responded to reports of a shooting on the isolated farm.

Multiple people are believed to have been shot at a rural property in Bogie near Collinsville in north Queensland.

"It's taken a number of hours for police to search and clear the area, however we have found a crime scene in a remote rural area," Mackay District Superintendent Tom Armitt said on Thursday afternoon.

"At this stage, we are at very, very early stages of our investigation.

"We do not know who is responsible."

Armitt also said it was believed the victims were all family members.

Detectives have declared several crimes scenes in the area.

A forensics team will conduct examinations in the morning.
