RCMP are investigating a fatal highway collision involving two vehicles east of Grande Prairie.

At about 8:20 p.m. on Friday, RCMP received a 911 call regarding a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of Highway 43 and Highway 670 near Bezanson, a hamlet roughly 400 km northwest of Edmonton, Mounties said in a news release.

RCMP, emergency medical services (EMS), fire services and a collision analyst responded to the scene, where EMS pronounced an occupant of one of the vehicles dead, Mounties added, noting they are not releasing the name of the victim.

RCMP are continuing to investigate the scene.
