Njama, a scriptwriter and stunt cinematographer, is credited with productions like Inhibition, One Night Stand, 7th Commandment, August Visitor, O’s island reality show and TV commercials.

Report of his death is coming barely two days after the death of Biyi Bandele, one of Nigeria’s leading playwright and filmmaker who directed Half of a Yellow Sun and Blood Sisters.

Although details of Njama’s death are still sketchy, one of his colleagues, a filmmaker, told Netng that Njama’s younger sister confirmed his death.

“I don’t have the details. The family will announce when they feel it’s right,” he told Netng.

In 2021, Njama announced plans to shoot the documentary of Prince Nico Mbarga, the late Nigerian highlife musician famous for his hit song ‘Sweet Mother’.

The project, which has been produced in partnership with Chocolate City, is yet to be released.

Nigerian filmmaker, Egor Efiok, in her tribute, said Njama was preparing for the premiere of the documentary before his death.
