Play the Parks: A transplant from a solid idea running in Toronto for the past decade, Play the Parks has gone national, with Canada’s Music Incubator and TD Music Connected Series programming a diverse group of 100 musicians in front of the series banners over the summer. The more music the better, right? Edmonton gets three shows in this program, starting with the very awesome Creeasian and Tzadeka in the cage at The Backyard 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. Next is an 11 a.m. show Saturday featuring Cynthia Hamar and the dynamic Melafrique at Strathcona Back Street (10310 83 Ave.). Then, 1 p.m. Sept. 24 at the John Walter Museum, it’s K4TGR4M and Josh Sahunta. All shows are all ages, free of charge. Read More
