A review of the Land’s Commission’s transport records revealed that ownership documents for 12 vehicles were not available for inspection.
Out of the 14 vehicles inspected by the auditors, two vehicles were in the name of the Ministry of Lands and Natural Resources.
According to the Auditor-General, in the event of insurance claims or circumstances where proof of ownership is required, the Lands Commission will be rendered incapacitated.
It has therefore recommended for Management to take urgent steps to regularise ownership of these vehicles and keep them on file.
Management of Lands Commission in their response said it has taken note of this observation and the Transport Officer has been instructed to liaise with the Administration Unit for the necessary vehicle ownership documents to be put on the file.
