Second man charged over alleged murder of Youseff Assoum

A second man has been charged over the alleged gang-related murder of Youssef Assoum.

Assoum was found with a gunshot wound to his thigh and several cuts to his head on Claribel Street in Bankstown in the early hours of December 11, 2014.

Police had been called to reports of a stabbing and Assoum was helped by an off-duty doctor.

He was rushed to Liverpool Hospital in a critical condition but later died.

Last week Comachero bikie boss Tarek Zahed, who survived an attempt on his life earlier this year, was dragged from his car in Edgecliff and arrested.

The 42-year-old was later charged with murder.

This morning a second man, 44-year-old Triantafilos Vlangos, was arrested by Taskforce Erebus detectives at a home in Georges Hall.

Last week Comachero bikie boss Tarek Zahed, who survived an attempt on his life earlier this year, was dragged from his car in Edgecliff and arrested.

He was taken to Bankstown Police Station and charged with accessory after the fact to murder.

Police will allege in court that he attempted to destroy Assoum's car by setting it on fire at Lansdowne.

The man has been refused bail and appeared at Bankstown Local Court today.
