Colombo, Oct 11 (AdaDerana) – An extraordinary gazette notification has been published, revising the levies charged for the issuance of vehicle driving licences.
The communiqué was issued by Minister of Transport & Highways Bandula Gunawardane on October 10.

As per the document, the fee charged for an application for a learner’s permit and a new driving licence (for one class) under the normal service is now Rs. 2,500. Under the one-day service, Rs. 3,500 is charged for this.
Meanwhile, the levy for re-applying a driving licence written and practical test have been revised to Rs. 500 and Rs. 1,000, respectively.
To renew or extend the validity period of a driving licence, Rs. 2,800 is charged for one period, and an additional levy of Rs. 500 for a lapsed period of one year or less than one year.
