Defending Champions, Prempeh College have defeated St. Thomas Aquinas for the third time in a row.
This sends the Accra-based one-time winners packing from the competition despite a spirited performance.
The Sunday morning loss also means St. Thomas Aquinas will start next year’s competition from the regional qualifiers once more, with Prempeh College maintaining their seeded spot.
The contest, which also included Ofori Panin SHS, ended with Prempeh leading with 46 points.
St Thomas Aquinas had 40 points while Ofori Panin had 25.
The first of this trilogy was in 2017 when the two schools faced off in the grand finale in Accra. Prempeh College fought off a last minute upset to win the title.
In 2020, Aquinas failed a revenge bid and lost to Prempeh College again – at the one-eighth stage.
Now, in 2022, again at the one-eighth stage, Prempeh dominates the contest to prove that they are five-time champions, with only Presec Legon winning more titles.
The Kumasi-based school continue their title defense in what they have promised to be a back-to-back showing.
Ofori Panin SHS who also took part in the Sunday morning square off also crush out of the tournament after placing third.
