He was killed after veering off Canning Dam Road in Ashendon in Perth's south east last night.
His Honda Civic smashed into a tree and exploded.
A passing motorist called emergency services but the 19-year-old couldn't be saved.
His heartbroken parents and siblings visited the scene with friends and classmates and laid flowers.
How the teenager lost control and crashed causing the deadly explosion is under police investigation.
Emergency crews were still battling spot fires at the scene.
The Filipino family moved to Perth seven years ago and said Castillo was a keen basketball and volleyball player.
