Ghanaian music star, Charles ‘Shatta Wale’ Mensah, has criticised Ghana’s music industry and reneged on his assault against Nigerian artistes one year after he declared that they do not reciprocate the same love and support they get in Ghana.
Shatta Wale made the declaration on his Twitter page on Wednesday, January 18, 2023, three days after he averred that Ghanaian presenter, ‘Nana Ama McBrown’ doesn’t know anything about presenting.
Is better we stop arguing with nigerian Fans ,promoters ,etc and ask for help
Me sef I need record label
Ghana music is a disgrace
Mek nobody lie you ..Shouts to Naija

Yes I have said it …. pic.twitter.com/MVwpgdps4V— SHATTA WALE (@shattawalegh) January 18, 2023
On December 17, 2021, a day after he held a show in Ghana, he claimed Nigerian artistes have used Ghana for their successes but abandoned the country after getting fame. The tweets continued his attack on Nigerian artistes at the Freedom Wave Concert which took place at Accra Sports Stadium.
This generated a lot of mixed reactions and even led to a four-day feud between him and Burna Boy, whom he had featured in 2012 on the Da Maker-produced song ‘Hosannah’. “It’s a fist battle like the type real men do. We can do it anywhere, behind closed doors or in a stadium for the world to see”, Burna had retorted on his Instagram story.
At the high point, both stars agreed to settle their feud with a physical bout but that never came to life.
Although Shatta Wale commands a great following, he’s never been one to shy away from controversy. And it remains to be seen why he retracted his love affair with Ghana only to laud his Nigerian counterparts – for a change.
