Less than a week after we bid 2022 goodbye, Samsung has officially launched the first Galaxy A smartphone of 2023. Samsung has unveiled the Galaxy A14 5G, a successor to 2021’s Galaxy A13 5G, a day ahead of the annual Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas, USA.

Galaxy A14 5G comes with a number of spec upgrades

Information on the Galaxy A14 5G has leaked multiple times over the last few months, and it seems most of it was spot on. The phone comes with a 6.6-inch Full HD+ display with a 90Hz refresh rate and is powered by the new Exynos 1330 processor, replacing the MediaTek chip that powered the Galaxy A13 5G, while keeping the same 5,000 mAh battery as before.

The A14 5G comes with 4GB/6GB of RAM paired with either 64GB or 128GB of internal storage, with the option to further expand storage by 1TB using the microSD slot. On the imaging side, the A14 5G is equipped with a triple rear camera setup consisting of a 50MP main camera and 2MP depth and macro cameras, while the front camera gets an upgrade to a 13-megapixel sensor.

The Galaxy A14 5G is the first Samsung phone to be announced with Android 13 and One UI (Core) 5.0 running on it out of the box. However, as far as software updates are concerned, the A14 5G won’t be getting any special treatment and is only eligible for two years of OS upgrades and four years of security updates.

Galaxy A14 5G sales begin in April

Samsung will be offering four color options for the A14 5G: black, silver, dark red, and light green. Pricing starts at 229 euros for the 4GB+64GB variants, and the phone will be sold in all European markets starting April. Availability details for other markets, along with pricing info for the other memory configurations, are currently unknown.
