Last month, the Galaxy A71 5G started getting the Android 13 update. However, the new version of Android was only available for the international variant of the phone. Now, the carrier-locked Galaxy A71 5G variant has started getting the update in the US.
The Android 13-based One UI 5.0 update is now available to the carrier-locked version of the Galaxy A71 5G in the US. It comes with firmware version A716USQU7FVL3 and brings the November 2022 security patch. The update is currently available on Sprint and T-Mobile’s networks, and other carriers are expected to release the update within the next few days.
If you have a Galaxy A71 5G on any of the two networks mentioned above, you can download the Android 13 update by navigating to Settings » Software update and tapping Download and install. Alternatively, you can download the new firmware file from our firmware database and flash it manually.
Samsung launched the Galaxy A71 5G in early 2020 with Android 10 onboard. The phone received the Android 11 update in early 2021 and the Android 12 update earlier this year.
