In this age of technological advancement, it is our collective obligation to leverage the potentials of smart technologies and combine them with human intelligence in order to create a hybrid approach that not only makes us resilient but can even prevent crises from arising. The World Economic Forum this year is taking place between 16-20 January 2023. SwissCognitive is honored to be part of this experience at Davos, lending its voice in conversations about how smart technologies can equip organizations to be more competent and sustainable, and governments and economies more robust and stable – all resulting in reduced environmental footprint and improved social welfare globally.

 

The past years have demonstrated, that the effects of any event in one region sooner or later will inevitably reverberate across the globe. We can no longer afford to ignore global-reaching issues. The climate crisis, the continued waves of the pandemic, the ongoing conflicts, as well as the resulting supply chain interruptions, the energy and cost of living crisis, food insecurity, and large-scale involuntary migration are all putting us into the same boat.

Our volatile environments and increasing challenges compel us to turn to contemporary solutions. In this endeavor, visionary leaders and experts in conjunction with revolutionary technologies are taking a central role. It is very clear that we have simply only begun delving into these emerging technologies. In order for them to reach their appropriate heights we must focus on cultivating public awareness and adoption of such advances and as a result, strengthen the collaboration between humans and technology. And we are on the right path. The past few months saw an enormous surge in public understanding on what cutting-edge innovations can do for us. It is becoming increasingly relatable and accessible, with incredible potential that we are yet to discover.

To tackle our global-reaching challenges and ensure cross-industry and cross-society mutually beneficial advancement, there is simply no alternative but to come together and address our challenges with join forces. In this age of technological advancement, it is our collective obligation to leverage the potentials of smart technologies and combine them with human intelligence in order to create a hybrid approach that not only makes us resilient but can even prevent crises from arising.

At the upcoming World Economic Forum, as every year, an assembly of 2,500 esteemed world leaders and experts gather in Davos, Switzerland to address some of the most vital issues we face. The six main themes include:

  • Ukraine shines a light on importance of global cooperation
  • Three interconnected crises – climate, food, energy
  • Don’t use the ‘R’ word (but it might be coming anyway)
  • Preparing for the next pandemic requires ending health disparities
  • Gender, inequality and Jobs of Tomorrow

While discussing these themes, many leaders and experts will take AI and other cognitive technologies into the spotlight as part of potential solutions. Given the boundless potential of recent technological advancements and today’s volatile environments, it is our obligation to turn the combination of human and artificial intelligence to our fragile world’s best advantage.
