Edmonton police are searching for two suspects following a December shooting at a north Edmonton home.

At about 11:30 p.m. on Dec. 7, 2022, two males reportedly shot at a north Edmonton residence occupied by a mother and her three daughters, police said in a Tuesday news release.

A statement in the release from Staff Sgt. Eric Stewart with Edmonton Police Service’s guns and gang section said “this shooting is baffling to us.”

“The video clearly shows that the shooter deliberately took aim at this house, but there is no evidence to suggest the family is involved in any criminal activity,” he said in the release, citing surveillance video of incident supplied to media. “In fact, they are so terrified for their safety they have since left the city.”

Police are searching for two suspects in this shooting and supplied images in the hopes that the public can help identify them.

The images appear to show people dressed in dark colours, one of whom seems to be wearing a mask.

Investigators are also searching for a dark-coloured “Honda CRV-style vehicle,” which police believe was involved in the incident.

Police have not yet provided an approximate address for the shooting, but will be providing more information at a virtual press conference on Tuesday at 2 p.m.

More to come.
