Earlier this week, Samsung released the January 2023 security update for the first time. Over the past few days, the update has been released to the Galaxy A10, Galaxy A73, Galaxy Note 10, Galaxy S21, and Galaxy Z Flip. Now, the update is rolling out to Samsung’s current-generation Galaxy S flagship, the Galaxy S22 series.

The latest software update for the Galaxy S22 series has been released to the carrier-unlocked units in the US. The update carries firmware version S90xU1UES2BVL4 and includes the January 2023 security patch that fixes dozens of security vulnerabilities. The update is currently rolling out to Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22+, and the Galaxy S22 Ultra units on AT&T, Comcast, Cricket, US Cellular, Verizon, and Xfinity Mobile’s networks.

If you have a carrier-unlocked version of any Galaxy S22 series device, you can now download and install the update on your device. To do that, you can head over to Settings » Software update and tap on Download and install. You can also download the new firmware file, appropriate for your device, through our firmware database and flash it manually.

Samsung debuted the Galaxy S22 series in early 2022 with Android 12-based One UI 4.1 onboard. The devices then received the Android 13-based One UI 5.0 update a few months ago. The smartphones will get three more Android OS updates in the future.
