Samsung Galaxy M54 5G is one step closer to hitting the market

Even though the Galaxy A appears to be more popular than the M-series, even in markets such as India, where the M line used to dominate, Samsung hasn’t given up on releasing spec-oriented M-branded alternatives to some of its Galaxy A phones. And one of its upcoming devices appears to be the Galaxy M54 5G. The device should be one step closer to release, as it was recently spotted strolling through Bluetooth SIG.

The phone carries model number SM-M546B/DS and conforms to Bluetooth 5.3 standards. The Bluetooth application confirms 5G connectivity and dual-SIM capabilities but not much else. Nevertheless, with this certification out of the way, the Galaxy M54 5G should be nearing its commercial debut.

Another mid-range phone with 8GB of RAM minimum?

According to an online benchmark dating back to November 2022, the Galaxy M54 5G should be powered by the unannounced Exynos 1380 chipset. There also was a wild rumor about the phone possibly using the Snapdragon 888 SoC, but that seems highly unlikely. After all, Galaxy M phones were never flagship-grade but budget-oriented devices that pack a bit more punch than the Galaxy A alternatives, at the cost of build quality and sometimes software features.

The Galaxy M54 5G could also sport a minimum of 8GB of RAM, similar to the rumored Galaxy A54, and it should ship with Android 13. The OS will probably run in tandem with One UI 5.0 rather than the newer One UI 5.1 version, the latter of which debuted with the Galaxy S23 series last week. Samsung is already offering the Galaxy S23 on pre-order terms but has yet to announce any availability details for what should be the much cheaper Galaxy M54 5G.
