Four months after taking a break from music following the demise of his three-year-old son, Ifeanyi Adeleke, Davido, on Tuesday, March 21, 2023, shared a teaser for his fourth studio album ‘Timeless’ which he said would be released on March 31, 2023.
The announcement is also coming two years after the release of his highly acclaimed album ‘A Better Time’, which had a picture of his son and himself as the album cover.
The music star, who deleted all his posts on social media on Tuesday, March 14, 2023, is ushering fans into a new era with Timeless.
According to the award-winning singer, Timeless is a reminder to his fans that, ‘what is now Timeless, was once new and it’s time for new.’
Since Davido went on a hiatus to heal from the passing of his son, who had drowned in his Banana Island residence on October 31, 2023, the music star had not participated in music-related activities aside from performing at the 2022 World Cup closing ceremony in Qatar.
“There is time for everything. A time to grieve and a time to heal. A time to laugh and a time to dance. A time to speak and a time for Silence,” Davido narrated in the teaser.
We are looking forward to what he has planned for his new album. Meanwhile, many fans who were worried by his long silence are overjoyed by Davido’s return to music and his announcement of a new album.
Many have taken to the comment section of Davido’s post to express their love for the music star.
“I’m glad I stan the best, I love you so much Davido, I’m so happy to see you active again. God will forever bless you my GOAT,” one fan wrote. Another said “My King. My GOAT, My Idolo is back. David, I’ve missed you.”
Davido’s last public appearance was in December 2022 when he performed at the closing ceremony of the 2022 Qatar World Cup. Since then he has not been seen attending a major public event.
He also didn’t perform at any of the December music concerts and cancelled shows he was billed to perform at the end of the year.
