The death of a young man found dead in a northeast Edmonton street has been confirmed as a homicide.
On March 15, Edmonton police responded to a weapons complaint north of 144 Avenue and 72 Street. When officers arrived, they found 20-year-old Usama Ibrahinidan lying dead in the street.
An autopsy completed on Monday confirmed he died of gunshot wounds and his manner of death is homicide.
Investigators are asking anyone with dashcam or surveillance footage from the area between 6 a.m. and 6:30 a.m. to contact police.
Ibrahinidan’s death is the 12th confirmed homicide of the year.
