As part of his commitment to constantly provide guidance and mentorship to young and aspiring storytellers, award-winning Nollywood filmmaker Chris Ihidero, through his ‘Story Story’ masterclass, recently gathered storytellers in Lagos, Nigeria, for a three-day intensive coaching.
The ‘Story Story’ masterclass, which is in its sixth year, gives budding storytellers a unique opportunity to benefit from Ihidero’s artistic and creative experience, spanning about two decades.
The masterclass, in collaboration with Lagos Film Academy (LFA), ran from Wednesday, March 15, 2023, to Friday, March 18, 2023, focused on exposing storytellers to what authenticity of stories and creative voices mean while teaching them how to sell their craft ran for three days with intense exercises, coaching, and classes where over 25 participants were guided to spot and tell authentic stories.
This year’s exercises took place with an interactive session where each participant was given the open floor to express their ideas and tutored by Ihidero.
Some of Ihidero’s critically acclaimed work as a writer and producer include MNet’s Hush, Fuji House of Commotion, MTV Shuga Naija and Forbidden, among many others.
