The Minister of Youth and Sports, Mystapha Ussif, has outlined the objectives set for Black Stars head coach, Chris Hughton as part of his contract.
Following the confirmation of his appointment as head coach of the team last month, Hughton secured four points in his first two games with Ghana in the doubleheader against Angola during the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
According to Ussif, the former Norwich City gaffer has been given four targets to accomplish as part of fulfilling his contract with Ghana.
“The objectives are set by the FA for him to ensure that we qualify for AFCON and also to ensure that we identify local talents from our league,” he said at the 2023 Ramadan Cup launch, at the Kempinski Hotel in Accra.
“To also ensure that we qualify for the World Cup and also to make sure that our ranking in the FIFA Ranking improves.
“These are the objectives in the contract that he has signed.”
The 64-year-old has already been to some domestic games as part of his stay in Ghana as he seeks to identify talents on the local scene.
