A year after releasing his highly acclaimed album, ‘Rave & Roses’, Rema has released the ultra version with six more songs added to the project. The 22-track album, which has become the most streamed Nigerian album of all time on Spotify, amassing over 1 billion streams, was released on Friday, April 28, 2023.
Calm Down ft Selena Gomez, Reason You, Holiday, HOV, Charm, and Dunno Me, were the new tracks added to the album produced by a range of producers, including London, Blaise Beatz, Rodlof, Alex Lustig, and more. The music star released Reason You and Holiday on February 2023.
‘Calm Down’ remix, which broke the record for the highest-charting Nigerian song on the Billboard Hot 100, was released on August 25, 2022, and since then it has amassed over 1 billion streams worldwide.
On ‘Charm’, music journalist Joey Akan had said, ‘Digesting Rema’s Charm record isn’t a music listening session. It offers life. Blood transfusion, disguised as ear candy.’ A fan of the music star also corroborated the statement as she said, ‘Yes, this Rema’s Charm is definitely special’.
The Calm Down remix has also broken multiple records, including the record for the first African song to enter the Top 10 US Billboard Digital Song Sales Chart and it has become the most streamed Nigerian Music on YouTube. Also, Rave & Roses has become the first-ever debut album by a Nigerian act to spend 37 weeks on the Billboard World Albums Chart.
Rema is unarguably one of the leading acts out of Africa right now. Aside from the success of his debut album, he has sold out shows with upcoming shows in countries like India.
