Flagbearer aspirant of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Dr Kwabena Duffour says he is yet to receive the complimentary voters register from the party’s headquarters after two weeks of petition.
In a letter to the party on April 17, 2023, Dr Duffour’s team said they requested for the complimentary voters register ahead of the presidential and parliamentary primaries scheduled for May 13, 2023.
However, a letter addressed to the NDC’s General Secretary on May 2, 2023, signed by a communication team member, Kofi B. Kukubor indicated that the party was yet to respond to the letter.
“Per an earlier correspondence dated April 17, 2023, a request was made for the voters’ register as stipulated in the NDC Election Regulations and Guidelines governing the upcoming elections.
“As the base document that will determine the eligibility of the appropriate voters, and as per the procedures associated with our national elections, we are making the request to be able to comb through and be very satisfied with the register,” the letter said.
Again, the letter stated, “The undue delay without any communication from the Party Headquarters is becoming increasingly difficult to understand.
“We by this letter draw your attention to possible legal ramifications of your actions and inactions.
In the meantime, the aspirant’s team assured of its commitment to a “transparent process to elect our Potential President as well as his full complement of Potential Members of Parliament who shall fly high the flag of the NDC in 2024.”
