One person was sent to hospital following a blaze in a third-floor unit of the Parkside Grande Condominiums at 6208 180 St. in Edmonton Sunday.
Edmonton Fire Rescue Services (EFRS) received the call at 8:39 a.m. that a fire had broke out in the condo building, said EFRS spokesperson Rowan Anderson.
Seven fire crews arrived to battle the blaze at 8:43 a.m. and evacuated the building. The fire was upgraded to a second-alarm fire at 8:47 a.m. and EFRS sent an additional four crews, said Anderson.
Damage to the building was mostly contained to the third-floor unit. One person was sent to hospital with unknown injuries.
The cause of the fire is yet to be determined and no damage estimate was given.
