Reactions have trailed the date fixed by the Supreme Court to deliver judgment in a suit filed by the peoples Democratic Party seeking the disqualification of Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Kashim Shettima as presidential and vice-presidential candidates of the All Progressives Congress

On Monday, the Supreme Court fixed May 26th as the date for the judgment to be delivered, just three days before the inauguration of the president-elect and the vice-president-elect. The PDP, had on July 28th 2022 filed the suit claiming that Shettima’s nomination to contest the position of vice-president and Borno central senatorial seat at the same time, contravened the law. The party further sought an order to disqualify the APC Tinubu and Shettima from contesting the presidential election as well as nullify their candidacies. As many Nigerians look forward to the court date, investigative Journalist David Hudeyin took to twitter to claim that Tinubu is working very hard to stop the judgment.

In the meantime, protests have rocked the federal capital territory, as Supporters of the President elect, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, led by former Niger Delta Militant Mujahid Asari-Dokubo stormed the Presidential Election Petitions court. The Supporters of the Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi also held a peaceful protest at the tribunal and called for their stolen mandate to be returned.

In other news, over the weekend, a heart wrenching video surfaced online showing a young girl who was stabbed with a kitchen knife, by a woman named Fatima. Fatima allegedly stabbed the young girl, six year old Sherifat Usman, in protest over her father’s advice to her husband to marry a second wife.

The knife pierced through Sherifat’s stomach and was lodged there until she was rushed to a hospital. Luckily the six year old girl survived the incident.

Another video has surfaced online showing yet another young girl who was stabbed by her employer Eucheria Ndigwe, an expectant mother in the Ojo area of Lagos state. Eucharia is said to have allegedly stabbed the young girl because she failed to wash a bag.
