Some of the biggest names in the entertainment industry are being celebrated at this year’s TV Baftas.
In the lead-up to Sunday night’s event – hosted for the first time by comedians Rob Beckett and Romesh Ranganathan – BBC drama The Responder led the way when it came to nominations, receiving four in total.
Other contenders for the night’s top prizes included actors Taron Egerton, Ben Whishaw, Sarah Lancashire, Kate Winslet, Billie Piper and Imelda Staunton, as well as presenters Mo Gilligan, Claudia Winkleman, Sue Perkins and Rosie Jones.
And while the majority of the night’s top prizes are chosen by a panel of industry experts, the British public did have their say in one category.
Renamed for 2023, the Memorable Moment award is voted for by TV fans, with The Traitors’ infamous finale, one key romantic scene from Hearstopper and Queen Elizabeth II’s afternoon tea with Paddington Bear among the nominees.
Completing the category were Derry Girls’ final episode, a pivotal scene from last year’s season on Stranger Things and revelations from Mo Farah about his past in the documentary The Real Mo Farah.
