Students at Delton School reach for a miniature basketball thrown into the crowd as Edmonton Public Schools Foundation, and the Edmonton Stingers celebrate a $500,000 donation from Go Auto for the ”Fresh Hoops’ program at Delton School on Thursday, June 1, 2023 in Edmonton. The $500,000 is the first part of a continuing campaign to support the Edmonton Stingers’ Fresh Hoops initiative. The community is invited to donate to an on-going matching program where Go Auto will match up to an additional $500,000 until 2025, making for a total possible donation of $1.5 million to the EPSF. This total commitment is the largest ever to the EPSF. Photo by Greg Southam /Postmedia

A look at Friday’s Edmonton weather by Environment Canada.

It’s 12 C at the Edmonton Blatchford weather station, with 9 km/h winds out of the west, northwest.

The sunshine has returned!

We got the rain we desperately needed, enough that the City of Edmonton lifted the fire ban that was put in place on May 5. We can now, carefully, start to have backyard fires and get those backyard smokers and open fire grills heating up. Just let me know when I should drop by for a bite to eat.

The Friday forecast is looking spectacular and the only warning I will give is to remember to put on some sunscreen.

We’re heading into what is promising to be an absolutely gorgeous weekend. I hope you’re able to get out and enjoy!
