We are five days away from the premiere of Season Eight of Africa’s biggest reality TV show, Big Brother Naija (BBNaija), and unlike previous seasons, there will be no introduction of new housemates this season which will be a gathering of some of our favourite stars who have passed through Biggie’s house in the last six years.

BBNaija All Stars

The announcement made at the media briefing for the show on Friday, July 15, 2023, had fans excited as to which of their faves they get to see on the screen again for 70 days of unrivalled drama and entertainment with a 120 million naira cash prize awaiting the winner of this season.

Between 2017 and 2022 when the last edition of BBNaija was held, a total of 125 housemates have been part of the show, and many of them have gone to take their place in music, media, movie and other showbiz activities.

Although there have been speculations on whether disqualified housemates or winners of previous seasons would be allowed to participate in the season, organisers gave no clear response as to who and who not to expect at the show. However, we have carefully curated a list of housemates we can’t wait to see at the all stars.

Mercy Eke

Although Mercy was the winner of the Pepper Dem season, there has not been an outright statement that disqualifies her from joining the show. While she was in the house, her unrivalled style and focus were one of the major things that set her apart from the rest. She could hold her own in the face of pressure and competition, and we saw it in how she handled issues in the house.

Nengi

It is just the baby girl’s energy. There has to be that housemate that knows how to have fun and bring the baby girl energy to show, and Nengi would be the perfect person to fill that role. Most fans would have definitely missed Nengi’s relationship with Guinness in the house, we need to experience it again. We simply need an unbothered baby girl in the house, and Nengi is that girl.

Cee-C

Cee-C showed everyone pepper. From her partner Lolu to Tobi, who had been her love interest during the show, she made sure to make her opinion known and was not afraid to say whatever was on her mind. With no care in the world, if she wanted to fight, she would throw her home training away and wash her opponent down with her words. We need that fire energy on the show this season. Drama is a necessity, and Cee C can bring the heat.

Vee

Another unbothered and loyal baby girl in the house was Vee. During the reunion, where she exclaimed that she was a witch, and she accepted it with her full chest. She immediately earned the respect of viewers of the show as she owned everything she did in the house to play the game. No amnesia, no stammering, just pure confidence and focus. We particularly loved her for it.

Lucy

Lucy’s iconic eviction walk to date has been one of the most iconic moments on the show, and many housemates have tried to replicate it but have failed woefully, they are not just that person. Lucy gave us angst, gossip, kitchen drama, and everything needed to play the perfect role in an all star season.

Alex Unusual

What were Saturday night parties without Alex? The ex-BBNaija housemate was the highlight of every party, bursting moves like no other while slaying like the baby girl she is. Barely any drama, just dance moves and vibes, and we need exactly that for the Saturday night parties, we need people that know how to have fun without turning the dance floor into prom night with designated couples glued to their waists.

Brighto

We need an instigator, a sort of ‘evil genius There has to be someone who would scatter the house with their advice, and there is no one as iconic as Brighto that can seamlessly pull this off. His iconic ‘Apply pressure’ line was on the lips of everyone as he strategically played his game to the last moment he left the house. Brighto was so subtle in instigating conflict that at some point viewers concluded that all he cared about in that house was Semo.

Lolu

There has to be a well-spoken housemate in every season. Although there are varied options we could go for, Lolu just seems like the perfect person. Plus, we need a resident baby boy in the house, Lolu is just that person. If you know, you know.

Angel

One thing the recent BBNaija shows have shown us is we need people ready to scatter the ships in the house. Someone who doesn’t care what anyone thinks of her and is confident to connect with anyone she feels like while being a good conversationalist and Angel is that girl.

We need to abolish these gum body parties that have been happening in the recent Big Brother seasons, and we need the perfect set of housemates to make that work. This list is simply incomplete without Angel in it.

Neo

Neo is there for violence purposes, just because we are curious about how his relationship with Vee would evolve with them being in the house together. Aside from that, his life of the party energy is needed. We don’t need any slackers or people who are coming without strategies or would forget while they’re in the house. We need the baddest in the game, and Neo is a part of that list.
